MIJ members have to be: Women Foreign nationals (MIJ is not a group for Japanese women, it is for women who hold a foreign passport if you are living in Japan) You have to be in or have been in a relationship with a Japanese man (You do NOT need to be married to join! MIJ is not open to foreign women in Japan who are married to a foreign man) You do NOT need to be living in Japan (Of course most of the topics in MIJ are about life in Japan with a Japanese guy) |

What is MIJ? MIJ is an internet community with an active email discussion list. We email everyday about relationships with your partner, your inlaws, raising children, working, studying Japanese and of course most importantly about you and your life. How does MIJ work? MIJ members (MIJ'ers) choose to read emails at the MIJ Yahoo! site or receive them in their email in-tray individually or as a daily digest. MIJ'ers can post a message online or by email. |
Who are the MIJ'ers? MIJ'ers are all nationalities, all ages, some have just arrived in Japan or our planning a first trip whilst others have been in Japan over 20 years. MIJ now has over 860 members all over Japan and that number grows weekly. MIJ'ers are in Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto-Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama, Tokyo-Central, East & West, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shigoku, Kyushu as well as overseas MIJ'ers in the UK & USA as well as all over the world. |
Is MIJ only online? MIJ is an online support community where MIJ'ers can freely email their personal feelings and thoughts (your privacy is safe as only women with a relationship can join through a moderator) & chat in the MIJ chat room. MIJ'ers can also make friends with other MIJ'ers in their local area and meet up for coffee mornings, lunches and kids play sessions. MIJ'ers can choose who they met up with and organise their own MIJ get-togethers. |
